White Slumber
White static flows all around
Drilling into my head, hammering endlessly
By the lake a fish
In its last throes of life fluttering
Leaving a bitter metallic taste
A tang in the air, not pleasant
Sends me gasping for air
Neon signs flash all around
Hark! It promises all that pleasures
But it’s just that, vessels that hold no water
It’s not what it was, evergreen
Spring fades quickly into winter
Holds a vicelike grip on me
I am beginning to lose hope
Do they ever wake up? Do they ever see?
Walk as they may but in a slumber
Towards a one way road
Beginning of the end
A road of despair
A carcass lies across the whiteness, a sparrow
Its purity defiled, innocence gone
Vileness blankets the land
Death by one’s own hand
Do they ever wake up? Do they ever see?
Walk as they may but in a slumber
Towards a one way road
Beginning of the end
A road of despair
